Default Anyone have an ECM for sale?

Does anyone know where I can get a salvaged ECM for my 2000 Road King (fuel injected)? I need it for a diagnostic check/trouble-shooting.

The bike is at the local HD Dealer and they are having a tough time trouble shooting it, but do not have any bikes in their inventory which will allow them to test mine with a "known quality" ECM replacement.

Thanks,

NS

Can I swap my factory ECM with a 2000 HD Buell Lightning X1 which is also an EFI bike?

Can the Buell ECM be "re-flashed" for use on my Road King?

Thanks,

NS

I replaced mine with a thundermax, I dont know if my old one would work on a different bike? If you have the cash get a aftermarket unit that you could tune.

What injection system is it running? If it is a Delphi I may be able to help you. I think I have one from an '04, but I'll have to verify that.

2000 is marelli good luck on that one. I'd be looking at thundermax or some other aftermarket unit.

As HarleyCharie 1992 mentioned, it is the Marelli.

I'm having a difficult time finding a suitable aftermarket replacement for my ECM. A member of the forum has offered to help me with my diagnostic work by providing me an ECM from his 2000 Road Glide.

Does anyone know if there would be any difficulties using the 2000 RG ECM on my 2000 RK as a direct swap?

Does anyone have a link to an aftermarket replacement? I've tried the ThunderMax website, but it appears they only make replacements for bikes manufactured after 2000.

Thanks,

NS

that swap should be just fine, too early to worry about can, just running the FI, see no issues there, good luck, and nice gesture on somebody loaning it to you

Well..... the HD shop called and they decided to get an ECM in order to test my bike.

So, after nearly two weeks of setting in the shop, adding shop hours to check the same connections I checked, they've discovered it is the ECM and it will be replaced once the part comes in...... early next week.

I could have saved myself nearly $700 by spending more time consulting the expert members of this forum. Before I sent the bike to their shop, I documented all of the technical data for my bike, as well as all of the checks I had performed, on a two page document. The bottom of the document I provided states explicitly "I suspect it is the ECM".

I guess that's a $700 "life lesson."

Thanks again for all of your assistance. I truly appreciate it.
