I'm looking for a chopper blue gas tank to fit a 2005 FXDL/I Low Rider. Must be in excellent condition.

Any suggestions where else I can look for a good tank?

 

The obvious suggestion would be to try E-bay, but that's a crap shoot. I tried finding a useable tank for my 2004 FXD for a winter custom project and it took me over 4 months of looking here, on "other" forum sites, trolling on E-bay and e-mailing a dozen used HD sites. I finally found a real nice, undamaged tank on E-bay, the price was good and it arrived in great shape. It's being painted a different color anyway, so the color I got was not important.

The second thing to keep in mind is the cost of HD OEM paint. With a local dealer discount, the paint was $138.00/qt. and that did not include the $40.00 can of activator for the urethane-based paint. Check with your local dealers also, they may have one that was swapped for a custom painted set of tins, etc.

I know it's not the color you're looking for, but the tank looks to be in overall good condition, although it's off a 2006, should not be a fitment problem.

i have an entire paint set for sale for your bike. its black on black ghost flames its one of the harley radical sets. looks awesome. selling it for 950 shipped was on the bike for 40 miles cant even tell its used other then the smell of gas.

 

This is for my wife's bike & she is insistant on the Chopper Blue.

If it was my bike I'd probably go for the black ghost flames. I thought about that for my Street Bob a while back.
