Default Inner cam bearing removal/install tool.

It's almost warm enough to start working on the cam swap. Does anyone have an inner cam bearing puller that they want to sell?

Unless you're just looking to own a tool that you won't use very often, the one you can borrow for free* at Auto Zone works great. It will pop the old bearings right out, and you can use one of your old cams to install the new bearings.

* "free" isn't exactly the right word. You give them the price of the puller ($160) as a deposit and they refund your money+tax when you return it within 90 days. Edit: just to clarify--the refund comes immediately. You have to return the puller within 90 days.

Thanks, guys; but there is no Autozone in Canada.

That's why I'm looking for someone like me who had to buy one and might want to sell it cheap. The SE tools sell on ebay for about C$60+shipping+duty+tax. For that I can almost get an hour labour from my dealer to install them.

I've still got another 2-3 months of hibernation to find one I can borrow, rent or buy cheap.

I bought mine on EBAY and then sold them on EBAY when I was done with them.

Contact George Beatty at beattygw@sbcglobal.net . He makes a bearing puller/installer that works very well, sells for around $90 US. I used it a few days ago to pull the inner bearings. I'm going to reinstall the Timkens tomorrow. A pictoral description of using the tool is found here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...t-day-3-a.html
