WTB H-D Detachables Solo Rack part number 53612-08A for 2017 FLSTF

 

I've found NOS in Europe.

 

I bought one from www.jwboon.com in the Netherlands.
I took off the black powder coating using paint stripper and a scraper, then a wire brush. Don't. It's way too much work and very messy. Rather have it blasted.
I had to then file down all the rough edges (powder coating "covers a multitude of sins"). It's in for chroming now.
I see there's another one for sale at H-D Detachables Solo Rack - REA / OUTLET - Jarvsomotor.se in Sweden, at a discount, they have confirmed stock.

 

LPC Plating Services in Letchworth, Hertfordshire quoted £180 to polish and chrome in 2-3 weeks. I phoned on 3 weeks and they said it might be another month, because they always give precedence to trade work. It's a shame they didn't mention at the beginning, that my private work is not actually in any queue. So I repo'd the rack today and took it to a chrome plating company in Essex, who quoted me £60 to polish & chrome
