TIZZIGHT!!!!!!!!! those who hate are just jealous.....and afraid 2 be non mainstream..........i have 2 traditional H.D.s well one is a harley flhtpi and the other is a sportster roadster LOL!!! i hear it all the time about my little girls bike etc....the main problems for the v-rod are that any dealer i have asked about them will try to dissuade you from even looking at them.....we all know that water pumpers are in the future for all bikes...sorry for going off the subject but i just had to compliment your new scoot and bash the haters !!!

Hey Cyclone (orany of you taller fellas)- I am 6'3" and am considering a DX. How do you like the position of the forward controls? Is it comfortable so far? How do you expect itwill feel on a long trip?
I know that on my Yammy Warrior, I had to get a 5" extender kit, and it was great after that, but a little cramped before hand.

RE: 1st ride on my Night Rod Special
Hey Guys,
Just found this site and this is my first time writting. I just bought my first bike. 2007 Night Rod Special. Several of my co-workers have Harleys. They all love my bike. I am 39 and had never been on a motorcycle in my life until I bought this one. Had to have it delivered to my house on a trailer. Have had it a month now. Got my DL, and have been riding every chance I get. Was told this was a heck of a bike to learn on but I am doing quite well. I was hoping that someone could help me on a couple of issues. First, I am 6'4" 250. I feel so cramped up on this bike and am trying to find some extensions for my controlls. Went to the dealership and they tried to find someone who sold extension that would fit my bike, but had no luck. I have found a guy who has a small shop here (Shreveport, LA) and says that he can have special parts made. Says that it will cost about $450 to have them made and installed. Says that it will give me about 4". Hoping to find another option. Second, I really like the way my exhaust looks, but hate the sound. Have been reading some comments on exhaust, but would like some more opinions. Would like to have the lowest, deepest rumbling sound that I can get. Would very much appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Rickaroo

RE: 1st ride on my Night Rod Special
I just picked up an 07 Night Rod Special and know that I am going to have to replace the exhaust and the handle bars right away! I logged onto 1130.com and tried to listen to some of the exhausts but could not get them to play on my computer would love to hear the different exhausts before I bought them. Also any suggestions on handle bars leaning forward to much want to sit back and relax.
