Isn't choice a wonderful thing. Something for every taste and budget. Interesting how that old ad-equated technology is still on the road uh. Most fixed on a porch, in a backyard, a garage and even a living room.
Parts still available today, or can be hand made. Try that with any other brand. Ain't happening. Technology is always followed by hand in pocket. Or I should say that today's technology is geared that way.
Once again don't ever confuse technology with gimmicks. People who generally ride Harley Davidson's do so for the sheer enjoyment of putted along taken in the sights and sounds. The problem is when some come from a cage that does everything but the laundry.
The other problem is trying to mix one segment of riding with another. i.e. sport riding with cruiser or adventure. Doesn't mesh well,,,dig ..

The VROD was developped in conjunction with Porshe engeneering team, it was not all Porshe design, they had a lot of input in it but so did HD...Either way who gives a ****? It's a Harley Davidson VROD, it hauls the grocery, some like it some don't...it sounds a bit different than the traditional HD and so be it...

A Harley engine has two pistons. The difference in the Harley engine is that the crankshaft has only one pin, and both piston rods connect to it. This design, combined with the V arrangement of the cylinders, means that the pistons cannot fire at even intervals. Instead of one piston firing every 360 degrees, a Harley engine goes like this:
- A piston fires.
- The next piston fires at 315 degrees.
- There is a 405-degree gap.
- A piston fires.
- The next piston fires at 315 degrees.
- There is a 405-degree gap.
At idle, you can hear the pop-pop sound followed by a pause. So the sound of a Harley is pop-pop...pop-pop...pop-pop. That is the unique sound of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
