ladies, enough already. the water-cooled road glide for 2015 or 16 will be harley's own design. and with the water jackets to quiet the motor down, the exhaust system should sound nice.

...and get ready for your valve adjustments. Keep that money train rolling, cause the average Glide owner ain't wrenched, then again they got the money.

an occasional valve adjustment would be a small price to pay for a water-cooled motor that was more reliable, longer lasting, and produced more power. just don't see valve adjustments as being an issue/problem/deal breaker on these bikes.

Yeah, it probably won't be all that bad. The book might say 12-15k intervals but in reality you could go 25k, unless they do a very sloppy engine. The Rods are tight, and that's only because the engineering is by Porsche. Left up to the cheese heads the tolerance would be way off.

I've met Rod owners that haven't even check them at 25k yet. Even though the book now calls for 15k. Bump up from 10k originally but there has been several redesigns of the engine, and even at 15k I think Harley just want's to cover their a--.

Anyway, water cool is just another selling point like ABS, yes they work and it makes a difference, but let's remember, bikes are still being made with out all that and running good. Now we got navigation systems as an option, next up I suppose will be a small refrigerator to tow behind the behemoth.

I'm not sure what a lot of HD owers have against water cooled engines. It's just technology progressing. They can be built to tighter tolerances because they have less thermal expansion issues, they don't over heat in traffic, they last longer between rebuilds, they can be tuned more precisely and leaner because their controlled operational temp range is very narrow, they burn fuel more efficiently and make can make more power. There is no down side to them. What gives?
