In fact the local dealer in my place (Recife, Brazil) sold more Vrods in January than all other Harleys. It is the kind of bike that appeal to us. The wife factor made me buy a Dyna Super Glide Custom, because she could not ride more than 100mi on the passenger seat. As a matter of fact I will try to keep both, the Dyna to ride with her and the Vrod Muscle (2010) to ride solo. I am also very satified with the Dyna, agile and much more easy to handle especially for my size (I am 1.71m about 5' 7"). I can ride the Vrod many miles on the road but dowtown I do prefer the Dyna.
Ya right. In a follow up thread he does mention having a turbo.
I spoke too soon
But stock they will pull 100RWHP or a little more depending on whether it's an 1130cc or 12500cc. My 1130 pulled 107 with a high flow air filter element and topless(air box plenum lid removed). That's at more RPMs than an airhead Harley will even turn and why a vrod will easily run triple digit speeds all day long if you can find a road long enough.

No, they are comfortable for 200-400 miles. You have to have a backrest, if you are a old guy like me. Also foot boards help. Big difference in power, especially if you need to pass suddenly. I can outmanuver/speed my way out of most bad situations. The bigger bikes to hard to maneuver and handle in parking lots.

Curious, what is the wheelbase difference between the touring bikes and the VRod? I ask because we all remember that parking lot coned course the officer was doing on the EG that went viral.

The problem is the vrod has more rake than the traditional baggers. It makes the slow speed handling of the vrod just that, slow. It's not a wheelbase difference that makes the steering quick or slow even though the larger rake angle tends to lengthen the wheelbase. The steering radius on my FLD is far more parking lot, tight turn friendly than my Vrod was. On the other hand a Vrod will be rock steady at high speeds where as the FLD want's to dance down the road at high speeds.
But to answer your question
Vrod wheelbase=67.3
Streetglide wheelbase=63.5
