New V-rod model?
#31
Well i tested a couple Vrods over time as they do catch my interest! That being said i would never Trade my Fatboy Lo for one My Lo is alot more comfy for me and especially for my wife on the back! But i would deff buy a Night Rod as a second bike! It would be interesting to see them come out with an even better more Bad *** Vrod for sure! I like them!

Here we go again.....
Here are the RUMORS I heard (again....rumors)
The Road Glide will be discontinued next year (yea, I know...I thought the same thing) but logically that will be when a water cooled touring Vrod model will be introduced that uses a fixed fairing (get the picture...?) Not getting rid of air-cooled engines just yet so don't start waving that flag. This bike is suppose to be an extension of the VRod family. Personally, I don't think the Vrod powertrain would make a good candidate for a touring bike, the engine doesn't develop enough low end in my opinion, although I'm sure with different cams, calibrations, ext. that could be tweaked (get the germans involved)
Honestly you just never know what the MoCo has up their sleeves and it's more difficult than ever to get genuine inside information, so, again, only rumors...

The Vrod engine would work fine with some changes to the transmission gear ratios. lower 1st and 2nd gears and adjust the rest accordingly.
The thing is, I'm not beleiving it will happen. If so the guys over on 1130cc.com would already be talking about it, nothing over there to this effect.

there was a guy who made a crotch rocket with vrod powerplant and weighed in just over 400 lbs. the number were pretty impressive on performance. but that was back in 2007 2008 time frame.could you imagine a 425lbs vrod with boosted performance in the area of 180hp. maybe HD found a way to make it with a profit...

That's a funny comment considering HD has three Vrod plants world wide to keep up with sales. Europe and South America are good markets for them. And the Kansas plant doesn't need to slow down at all.
No, the traditional air cooled V twin riders are not that interested in them. but those that have them know what a great bike they are.
I have one or more of each HD family of bikes including a CVO. I consider the Vrod only second to the other bikes. The first is the XR1200. The XR would be second if HD came out with the Street Rod again.
