V-Rod headlight fell apart
I don't have a Harley, but a fairly heavily customized Suzuki SV650. I recently (July? August?) put a headlight from a V-Rod on it. I've taken it on some fairly abusive roads - high speed on washboarded dirt roads - and, other than when I didn't tighten the mount bolts quite enough at first and it drooped a little, it's done fine.
Last weekend I went on a day ride with some friends, around 400 miles total. It included some 1 lane mountain roads in fairly poor condition, so it did shake everything some.
Well, I got to the destination and noticed that the cover for the low beam bulb had fallen out. Luckily I was with friends and therefore aimed the light down and we took the freeway (150 miles) home.
Has anyone had anything similar happen to their VRod headlight? Have you repaired it?
Or, have you installed an HID with projector and everything into the headlight, including removing the front lens? If so, how did you get it apart and back together?
Not the best picture, but here's how it looks now:
