Keep in mind if they honor the original warranty you can always add the extended warranty before the original expires. A lot of people I know like to defer the cost. Some also like to see if they have many problems in the first 2 years and if they do they get the extended warranty.

I called MoCo and they confirmed it is out of warranty. Evidently the bike was used in promotional advertising, etc. by HD and it's first date of use was in late summer of '07. Its warranty expired in '09.

Yeah its called a demo bike and they should throw in an extended warranty to seal the deal IMO. I don't care what it would cost you to get an extended warranty , it doesn't cost them 1500 dollars.

That is crap! I just bought a brand new 07 VRSCD (yes I said brand new 07), it was on the showroom floor and the dealership was bought out. I swooped in on it at the right time for a killer deal on it. IT CAME WITH THE 2 YEAR WARRANTY, no questions asked.

I had problems with a 2008 Night Rod Special, at 7,000 mi the engine had to be replaced by the dealer and I was sent a new one by the MoCo. My only concern is: Does the engine come with the same engine number as the original one? I have been told by the dealer it does but I am worried it ainīt true. What are your thoughts?

Tell them you will give $1000 less for the bike as it is used. Then do the extended warr.

Blk and Chrome, should the dealer have any type of paperwork that comes with the replacement engine? Should I get some warranty from the dealer since the engine is new? The bike is 08 and has less than 8,000 miles.
