Finally saw an F

The dealer ships around here have at lest 6 or more bikes out on the floor.
I have yet to see one out on the roads of south Austin.
Come tax time......I'm sure I'll see a few buzz'in around the hill county.

Dallas to Austin is actually one of the hot-spots for V-rods. Phoenix, LA and Detroit are the other areas that have unusual amounts of V-rods. There are two V-rod forums that everyone sets up rides on. I know a lot of people complain they never see V-rods on the roads. That's because we are all together on the back roads! The rods are killer highway bikes, but they are a whole lot more fun on the back roads where we have a chance to let the bikes run.

For me V-Rods are one of those bikes I would like as a second bike but, like almost everyone else, if I had 17K "extra" money I have a long list of things I would want more. I think they look nice and the Muscle is very nice. I have ridden them many times but it wouldn't be my only bike because I like touring. It seems to be one of those "when I win the lottery" things for most folks around here.
One reason there weren't a lot on the showroom floors was because most of the first ones came in with the right mirror broken off because of a crating problem. They didn't have new mirrors available to send to dealers to replace them and the dealers were fighting to get reimbursed for the cost of replacing them.
One thing I have noticed is that of all the "Harley People," the group who is most open to the Revolution motor are the touring folks. Most of us would love to see a version of this water cooled motor in a touring bike. The motor company seems determined to take the bike in a completely different direction. I know they have a lot of "marketing experts" but I think a Water cooled 100+HP fully equipped (Ultra) type bike would not just be HOT for Harley Riders but a lot of Metric folks would take a serious look at them.
