What does HD do when the side mount is not legal in a particular state?

I've heard that there will not be much in terms of appearance changing, but that there will be notable change.

I've heard that a lotta places too it must be the engine ( Revos for everyone!!! ), It's the 100th anniversary of the vtwin this year so that would make sense but there has to be more models than just the new VRSCF and i havent heard anything about any of them.&nbsp\\; I speculate the XR1200 will be here in the us with the XL1200R cut out and Harley buying US rights to the XR1200 name it only makes sense that it would be coming here. Other than that i have no theories, HD and victory are the last 2 major motorcycle manufactureres who have not submitted to CARB as of last night at 1130-ish.

I think they are working the market with temperance. Other than California and Texas the US market is not booming. It is growing slowly. They just may not come out with a new model in '09 at all. Modifications to the AW & the DX may just be the way they go for now.

i agree but i think theres gotta be at least 3 of a certain bike family. not that theres anything at all wrong with the A or the DX im sure we can both attest to that. I still think it'll be a tourer the more i look at it and remember what they said about the vrod during production in birth of the vrod and how this style of this unknown bike was what they werent going for. And with all the people on 1130cc.com doing bagger conversions with FLTR fairings and such they probably think that theres a market for them, maybe theyre trying to lure in the sport touring crowd?

There are 3 in the family already, the DX and DXA (ABS), The VRSCAWA and the VRSCDA (A night Rod with ABS). The real question is Why is this F coming out. HD Finally got rid of the Fluff and awfullness that was infecting the V line by discontinuing everything but the "A" and DX (Both Forward Controlled) and the Night Rod (Mid). What is this F going to really offer? Another Bagger in the HD line up to sit on the floor next to all the others? This Uglier than Sin thing pictured above is someones Idea of what a HD should look like if it was a M109 is all I can think.

Is the three to a family some sort of HD rule? Would the MoCo have filled the dealers with false information about a bagger not happening for quite a while? (I'm not implying they would not.)
My thought would have been that they would be coming out with something to attract even more of the younger buying market. Many younger buyers do not have the cash to afford the price, but the bottom line is that there are many who do. If they do not do more to attract them when they are young, then many future buyers will not have any reason to consider HD. I just would not have thought of a touring ride to get their attention.

And Lux, to me it is ugly, but being 48 and wanting to ride since being a toddler, they hooked me a long time ago. I'm not their future.

that may be the case about the younger buying market, some people have heard that the Fairing on the F could be a sportier one, something about V&H wanting them to build it so they could use it in racing but were all just shooting in the dark right now, a tourer seems logical but then again HD isnt some of the time.

I dont think three bikes per family is a rule but i dont think i would want to choose between two bikes if i wanted something from that family of bikes, Thats why 2007 was in my opinion the best year for Vrods they had 5 gallon tanks and tons of models to choose from, the A, D, DX, R, X. I dont think that they would want to limit the choice of bikes that badly. The vrods are already unpopular and to have every other Air cooled faimily with 7-10 bikes and the vrods with 2 or 3 just seems like they're neglecting them even more, but it looks like there will be 4 bikes for 09 which is better than nothing but still not enough for me.

I heard that about V&H and thought that is why a little fairing showed up on the D/DX models.

For some reason I cannot get it into my head that it will be a bagger. Not yet. But what the heck do I know!?!?
I think they need to do something that is as sharp and sporty looking as the DX and oriented toward the rider that desires a more upright riding position. That being said, they need to leave the DX the way it is, unless of course DX folk think it needs some stock tweaking here and there. It is a beautiful ride.

Thanks i think it needs 08D wheels all black with the stripe but thats just me

Maybe with the R gone in 07 and the lack of a superbike the F could be for Fast and be some sort of Super R we will see in a few weeks

You are welcome.

Ok, so that thought together with V&H needs brings to mind the description of the VRSCFA from the old VRF: cowl induction on the air box and windscreen/bodywork.
