Default Night Rod Exhaust

I just got a Night Rod Special and wanted to know about different exhaust options. Also after market air filters ( such as K & N) do they help, are they worth the $$. I'm a new bike owner so any info will help. Thanks....Jerry

From what I hear it's best to get a high flow air filter after switching out pipes.

As far as pipes, their is all kinds of slip ons you can get, and some total custom styles also.

Just do a google search as I found that to be the best way so far.

K&N filters are always an easy and good mod. Increase air flow but won't change the performance of the bike without a change in pipes. The bike will run a little leaner but I think it is about the same as going topless (quieter though) and remapping is not usually required. As far as pipes 2:2, 2:1 slipons, caps etc. There are probably a lot of used pipes out there since riders tend to change pipes as they change clothes. However you will need to remapp Sert, PCIII, or some other fueler.

I saw the super trapps either the kerkers, or the other ones which come in black or chrome. Both are slip ons. Don't want a loud pipe around here but wouldn't mind the increase in hp.
