im bieng a bad influence, im sorry...but you totally should, i got mine for 13500 with only 1200 miles on the clock and came off of a sportster similar to yours

 

The Europeans "get it". They don't have to worry about the "Harley Mystique".They know they have a cruiser that will thrive on their roads. For a cruiser, the V-rods flick very nicely, some a little better than others.
Americans want the the long-haul highway cruisers. For some reason only the big v-twins will do in their minds. this includes the metrics. Most people just don't realize that as long as you can keep the cops off your back you can parka V-rodsspeedo on the century mark and leave it there all day long even with a passenger.The Revo doesn't care. I can carve the twisties and sit on the Interstate. The V-rod makes no appologies. I've done a few 400 mile days with a passengerand plan on doing some 600 and 800 mile days very soon. Those will most likely be solo.Find another bike that is willing to challenge the Coronado Trail or the Dragon and hang with the best of themand only have it as a small part of the day. Traditionally a bike is either a good carver that you can't stay on for more than an hour, or you can ride it all day long but cornering sucks. The Europeans have figured the V-rod. The Americans haven't.
I've run my Night Rod agaist all the big metrics. A couple can take me in the 1/4, maybe.A tenth of a second will either go way. 0-60, I kill them. For that matter, 0-60 Ican smoke a Lambo. The metrics give up when they see a twist in the road. The best compliment I get is when somebody on a Eurobike or a sport bike comes over afterblasting up a tough mountain and says "That ain't no Harley".
(Sorry, but the riders that really crack me up are the Star riders and their leather vests. I have nothing against Yamaha, there are two in my garage. One is a '71 the other is an '81. They both run.)

Spyder isn't the first to report on all the V-rods in Daytona. What happened to all the $100k+ custom choppers? (I'm luvin the SE art work. You selling prints?)

 

And I've never disagreed with you there, just theone comment you made in your first post. The almighty dollar rules quite a lot, most definitely people's choice in things most of the time is one of them.
