Then add in speedometer error. When my speedometer reads 100 MPH, its actually 94 MPH checked with GPS.

It really depends on the gearing. The older Vrods had a 30 tooth front pulley while the newer ones have a 28 tooth front pulley. The 28t will accelerate quicker, but reduce the top end speed. With a 28t pulley you should be able to get to low 140's and low 12 second 1/4 mile times with a decent rider. The 30t pulley will get you to the upper 140's, but the 1/4 will increase to mid 12's. A very good rider can get a stock Vrod with a 28t pulley into the high 11's, but he needs to be very good at launching at the right rpm.

Are you serious? The speedos are that far off? On a brand-new bike? How sad is that.

My V-rod only goes 100mph...as far as I know. Supposedly 142 with the 28t and 148 with the 30t. Don't hear of many people tweaking the map and adjusting the redline to 10K. I guess it's better to be safe than blow an engine at 150+mph.
I have to keep telling people that the V-rod isn't the fastest bike on the road, but it is one of the top 3 muscle cruisers. If you ask a V-rodder, they'll tell you theyown the best bike ever built. If you ask an M109or V-max owner, they'll tell you the V-rodder has the best bike ever built.
Wait...something doesn't sound right. I'm not sure what it is.

Found it!! I've had my V-rod up to 103.

Well, maybe yours is unfortunately off but my 142 was corroborated by two other bikes (both crotch rockets, oneshowing 140 andthe other at 143)---hard to imagine thatall threeare significantly off. Your 6 mph discrepancy at 100 could very easily mean 10 at 140. I seriously doubt I was only running at 130

Not to mention the other two.

It will do more than that unless something is wrong... at 103 you should only be in 3rd if you are pulling hard...
