Have I ever told you you're an a$$hole? I like that in a friend.
I had a cop friend peg me at 3.2 seconds from 0-60 with his new super-duper state of the LIDAR that has speed, distance and time. It was cool seeing the play-back on the computer in his car.

[]Why do people keep telling me that?

I've always wanted to run against a LEO's equipment, it'd mean somuch more than what my speedo is telling me. Thanks for sharing the experience.

I just wanted to make sure, in case you didn't know.
I'm fortunate to have several friends that are state and city LEOs back in AZ. A lot of the time we were playing with their equipment to see what it would do. I think that new LIDAR will even tell you what color drawers you're wearing.

Test drove a 07 vrod today to add to my collection.
After doing some roll ons and hole shots.I decided not to buy it.
My little 03 sportster would dystroy it on both ends..
Thought this bike was to be harleys hot rod?????
If you are serious (which I doubt you are) I'm sure you were riding the Vrod like a air cooled bike. If youchange gears at 2-3000 rpm's it won't feel like the "hot rod" it really is. These bikes love the high rpm's, ride it andchange gears at 8000+ rpm's and then come back and say that.

Vic, I doubt he can count past 4. He'll never find the 8 or 9. 9 and 1/4, definately out.

i ride a 1200 sporty, my dad has a 04 v-rod. From a dead stop i roll on him for about 100 feet, after he gets the rpms up 5k+ he drives by me like i am sitting still. The bikes are so completly different, its really hard to compare. the v-rod also was a tad bit fast then my ninja 600r, and that bike moved.

I'll bet your Sporty can stay close to the V-rod in the twisties. Yah, 600 class sport bikes are about the largest the V-rods can out run. Unless you're running from a dead stop and nothing farther than 1/8th mile. I know, I ran a friend of mine on a Busa several times. He caught me at the 1/8th a couple of times and it was always close. I was never close in the 1/4.

I'm trying to stay out of this and keep my mouth shut but I can't. 100 feet is only if both of you are at idle, right? Since I launch at 5000 (depending on road conditions) I'm already where you say he's running past you. If a V-Rod leaves at 5k a Sporty has slim to none................

And slim just left the building.

Well if we both had equal launches from a dead stop, my sporty would leave harder and i would be infront. I say infront for 100 feet and thats it. As soon as the v-rod gets the rpms up, its gone. Agian that could be just the driver, even when we switched bikes and goofed off, we had the same results. I will say that i was not really familiar with the v-rod at the time, hence why i didnt launch correctly or at 5K, it was diffiently softer then that.
