I got a letter sent to my house last week from our homeowner's association about the D&D 2-into-1 on my V-Rod. I guess people don't like it very much when I leave for work @ 7am.

Keep waiting for more letters, I guess. The sound ordinance in this area is only in effect from 10pm-6am. I'm trying to keep the volume down until I get out of the neighborhood though.
My Buddy has a V-rod with Bub 2 into one with a SERT and it will absolutely hurt you riding behind him and he wears earplugs while riding which is all stupid as far as I am concerned, loud exhaust is one thing, but if it is so loud and ear piercing you have to wear ear plugs it sorta defeats the whole purpose, at least IMHO!
Earplugs are for the wind noise, not the exhaust noise. With the exhaust opening behind the rider, he/shedoes not hear the note as loudly as one does behind the bike.
My first answer would have been Thunderheader...I have a VandH propipe, and it's not loud. I had samson
2 1/4" open dragpipes, they were loud even at 2mph...but Thunderheader is an "obnoxious" and very fast pipe...
