Default Vrod heat in Traffic

i may get a2009 VROD as a second bike for daily commute to work. How does the VROD stand up to traffic ? Does it overheat and ping like air cooled HD's ?

any Baggers that also have VROD's.. whats your feedback on saddle position
Happy new year

The V-Rod is a liquid cooled beast and does not overheat and ping like the air head machines during hot weather. Fans are programmed to come on at about +-210° and shut off when head temp drops to +-190°
ps: The V-Rod stays well ahead of traffic any time you want it to.

I have a 12 NRS and it has never overheated. Don't know about the Street 750 yet. My other 12 HD's are air cooled. l have ridden a TC 96 in the summer afternoon through Death Valley at 120 degees. No pinging at all. The same with the rest of them. I have ridden the 49 states and most of Canada without ever having a Softail, Dyna, Sportster, CVO or touring bike ping.

Just what is this pinging that you are talking about? Static in your radio? Or is it in your head?

My Buell XB12XT will put the NRS to shame in accelleration. The XR1200 will stay right with it to 125 the the NRS will pull away.

My Vrod does just fine in heavy traffic but then again... so does my Roadglide as long as you keep it moving even if just slowly

Baggers that have Vrod engines? Not from the factory but here is a pic of my NRS that I put together last year. I am very comfortable on it but I am also running floorboards and highway pegs.
