I used my center stand to install them. I would be leary of removing 2 of the 4 kick stand bolts with the weight of the bike on it.

I went ahead and used the lift....The 2 outta 4 kickstand bolts was freakin me out. I put 180 miles on in past 2 days, and the 1" does make a huge difference! Fit and finish is fantastic (and the design of the square space is great).
Two thumbs up!!!!!!
