This looks to be what I need, I have the previous design where it was foam with a tube going down the center, and I'm still messing with it to get the excess venting under control, sometimes a little too much oil mist comes out and gets on the side of my bike after a long trip. Oddly, not all the time. Literally tonight I was going to add another layer of foam to hopefully cut down the mist escaping out the vent holes in the top of the can. I have my catch can located right behind the air cleaner football so too much oil mist and I start to see it on the side cover of my bike. I don't like the idea of it being real low where the oil mist could wind up on the rear tire, but even better is I'd like to keep the oil in the can to begin with.
Is that what this new 4 stage design is supposed to accomplish?

If your blow-by is an underlying issue such as high oil levels, worn umbrella valves, etc., the larger capacity may not be enough to prevent a mess but it is certainly the best option to contain the blow-by.
Since you already have the previous model catch can and were intending on adding another layer of foam, I would suggest trying to mimic what we have done with the new can design... after all the testing we have done over the last few months, the final design was the absolute best.

Thanks for the reply. Oddly, I don't have a ton of blow-by sitting in the can after like 500-600 miles, even when it seems like too much is coming out the vents. And even then it's not like a complete mess, just enough I see it on a small area of my side covers and I harte having oil anywhere it's not supposed to be. That's why I thought adding some foam would separate/collect more oil out and leave it in the can, but not adding so much foam it leaves no vacant space in the can (the one I have s the short version). No issues with high oil levels (below full) or umbrella valves (they're new).
