Default Big bore gaskets

Tc88. If I put in a big bore kit what other new gaskets would I need besides the head gasket? Am I able to pretty much reuse all of them?
Trying to see if I can get by with just using those kits with just the jugs, cylinder, piston rings etc. or would I need the big kit with ALL the gaskets involved included?

You need the gaskets for upper and lower rocker box, plus the o-rings under the breathers. Also the o-rings for cylinder base and dowels. New exhaust gaskets is also a good idea.

If you are also changing the cams you need the cam cover gasket plus the o-rings for oil pump and cam plate.

Don't reuse any gaskets or o-rings.

And if you replace the cams you should also change inner cam bearings to Torrington type.

You'll also need pushrod O rings.. Manifold seals.

While I stock piece parts for partial work, it's better to buy the top end kit. You can buy top end kits with the big bore headgaskets from Cometic with either a 0.040 or 0.030 headgasket..

I never reuse gaskets that are hard to get to. Like was mentioned replace all of the above .

I just worked worked on a friends bike, where someone cheaped out on a bunch of stuff. Bolt came out on inner primary and hitting chain, was main reason he called me. The guy that works on Harleys all the time put cams in it threw the top. He used after market vavle cover gaskets, which was leaking along with push rod tube and primary inner and outer. I

I cleaned the bike with gasoline w/oil, it was so bad. Do it right and be proud of your work.

The OP can also get the top end kit from Cyco/US Seal. Have used them on several builds; same quality as Cometic at half the price. Used to sell wholesale only but IIRC, now selling retail.
