2005 Electra Glide Rear Rocker Box/Cylinder Removal
Hi All,
New to posting but have been using the forum for years to work on my bikes. I've looked everywhere but have not found what I was looking for so I thought I'd start my own post. I am doing a 95" big bore on my TC 88".It is a fuel injected 2005 ELectra Glide Standard All the videos I have seen and the forums read state that you can remove the rear rocker box and cylinder while the motor is mounted. I have tried every which way but the rocker box bolts are hitting the frame before coming out. I have tried wiggling but it is just to tight. The bolts get jammed and the left rear one just won't clear the hole. I feel that even if I could get it out that putting it back together correctly would even be tougher. Not to mention not being able to torque any of the bolts. Question, is there a way to just lower the motor a little as to not have to remove it. I just don't see any other way. If so, how would I lower the motor. I've done my own cam work and other stuff but this is my first top end job. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. HB

Welcome to the HDFORUM.
I hope you continue to enjoy your ride here to.
Only as a suggestion, by me as a USER, create a signature line similar to my one line on my bike information.
The year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.
Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the year.
Of course, you can always add it to any thread with a question.
You can also add any other details you choose and a favorite picture to the signature lines.
If you like, you can also add a favorite picture for an Avatar you see at the top left of all your posts as a postal
PS…Questions would probably get more comments in the proper area using the dropdown menu under Forums in the menu above
It’s possible if a Community Team member sees your post, they may move it to a better area.
If they do, only as a suggestion by me, make another new thread back here in the welcome area to say hello and if desired introduce yourself.

And theres a special tool to remove those bolts......here's one,,,,,,there are others.
I was always afraid I'd break it off while torquing the bolts down.
