New member-dad gave me his 2016 wideglide, fm 107 bb kit needs finished
Hoping to get some advice. My dad had a stroke last spring and has gifted me his pride and joy 2016 fxdwg. The bike looks like brand new with 24k miles. He was in the process of building a fuel moto 107 kit when he had his stroke. basically it’s 1/2-3/4 of the way finished.
cam and bearings have been swapped with woods 777, new lifters and buttoned up. Pistons swapped out and new fm jugs installed with .30 (I think) head gaskets. Should be 10.5-1 comp. Stock heads I’m pretty sure. This isn’t his first build so I assume everything is correct. But communication is difficult still. He seems to be concerned about something but it’s hard to tell. I tried to talk him into letting me take it to a shop to finish but he was f’n adament! No miscommunication here. “YOU DO IT”!
okay pops! I’m on it.
basically what it looks like is lower rocker boxes and rocker assemblies need installed. Pushrods installed and adjusted and then buttoned up. Then just install the tb, wiring, exhaust and fuel tank. I’m not a gear head like my pops but I did grow up around it. Still a pretty daunting looking mess to me. I have a service manual and I’m reasonably unstupid.
my question is, should I tear it down and build it back from scratch? New gaskets of course. Or assume it’s all correct and hope for the best. It’s been sitting since April in garage uncovered.

Hopefully you have paperwork from Fuel Moto
Assuming the garage is fairly clean and dry, finish it up. Double check that heads were torqued down properly. Probably cometic head gaskets so use cometic torque value. Make sure you adjust pushrods top dead center compression stroke each cylinder. All bolt torque numbers are in service manual. Call Fuel Moto about tuning.
Hope your dad improves. Got to be frustrating for him.

Welcome Bill. Sorry to hear about you Father. Hope all works out for the best.
Hope maybe you continue to enjoy your ride here with us on the HDFORUM.
If so only as a suggestion, but very important, create a signature line similar to mine on your bike with the year, model, and all the letters Harley assigned to the bike. It will appear at the bottom of your post.
You can also add a favorite picture to the signature line.
Doing this will be helpful if you ask a question or to someone asking a question. All Harleys aren't the same with many changes and variations over the years.
You can also add a favorite picture for an Aviator postage stamp you see at the top left of your post.

Its kinda hard to jump in the middle of a build that you have never done before, but the hardest part is done. With a service manual, Utube and here you should be fine. These engines are pretty simple thats why I love the twin Cams . You could talk to fuel moto about what needs done about tuning it to start. Then it should be put on a dyno.
