Do y’all think lifters will need replacing at 27,000 miles. Idk how much all this cost but every time I talk to someone they say another part to do while I’m in there.
now I should check the cam run out too…

You can probably get away with 50,000 on the lifters if you're on a budget.

Once the tensioners have been addressed, you can freeze the cams, with the outer bearings, heat the cam plate again and drop the cams/bearings back into the cam plate. The inner chain will be on and the timing marks on the cam sprockets must be aligned. Unless you have a "special" tool, the cams have to come out to replace the inner tensioner. It's not rocket science.
gotcha. I was under the impression the inner tensioner came off without pressing out the bearings. I think I’m on the same page now. Cool I think I can handle that.

The issue is that you can't release the inner tensioner spring pressure until you get the inner chain out of the way ... well, unless you use the aftermarket tool

'05 Twin Cams were still running the HD "B" lifters which were probably the best of the OEM lifters. Service manual says service life is 25K-30K miles, so a toss up IMHO. If budget allows, replacing them with a set of Johnson Hy-Lifts from WFO Larry would be an upgrade. He offers 3 lifters 2313, 2313S and 2313SE; the standard 2313 lifters would be fine with you application; your call. https://www.larrysmotorcyclemachine.com/lifters.html

The original bearings have plastic cages keeping the needles in position, and they can fail with catastrophic consequences. The Torrington bearings are filled with needles without plastic separators and are very unlikely to fail.

You do need a special tool for removing and installing them, I have always managed to rent or borrow them, you could check with a local workshop or motorcycle club maybe.

Are these the ones ? so they are both the same bearing for left and right cam?

Well I finally have new Torrington inner bearings, tensioner pads and associated seals with the push rod removal through the rocker box process. Thanks for everyone who commented and helped out. I started an ape hanger install in the midst of this so I haven't been able to check my work and start the bike yet. I'll dive into the manual and see what the process is for adding oil back and starting. I'll post the ape install somewhere when complete. Thanks again. Until next time......
