Build Twin Cam Motor from scratch
I just picked up some new 103 twin cam heads and cylinders for a stupid low price so now I need to figure out the rest of it.
I'm looking at a Dark Horse crank and S&S timken cases for the bottom end. Does this sound like a good idea?
Could I title the bike using just the case numbers in Arizona? I'd like to modify a 80 FX frame to hold it. I have a 59 neck without numbers I could I could put on the 80 frame if I had to.

I can't help but I think you need to visit the AZ DMV and find out what the requirements are to register and pull a clear title for the bike. I know anything is possible given enough time and money but I suggest that you figure out exactly what is required to mate the later motor up with the early frame; time and cost might be a show stopper. Just sayin thoroughly research/investigate both before spending any money.

I'm keeping the 22 Sportster. I also have a 06 88inch Street Bob I bought new that I'm keeping for now. I'd like to build up a 103 in a old frame for my son. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on the 103 parts.

I don't have a title for the 80 FX frame but I could put a 59 neck and a drop seat on it as the pre 70 frames weren't numbered. Sent S&S an email about the cases but haven't heard back yet. Just starting to look into it.
