Not necessary to check every oil change but good practice to check it if there is occasion to open the cam chest and note for future reference.

Get a good tune in it and it would run ten times better. Have an 2008 96 and absolutely love it . Got set of mufflers , air filter , and a PV4 tune from Fuel Moto that works . Good luck to you

Love the 103 HO engines , have 2 of them, 2016 Fatboy and 2016 Street Bob
Can hear the sound of the engine at the end of this video

And oddly, to me, the Street Bob can sound better on decel, it has RCX Performance exhaust
Not sure it it's that, or the unbalanced engine, but they are both a sound of beauty

5k is little low for miles I would buy a used bike with no warranty. But probably enough.

I just bought a 15. At some point they updated water pump on liquid cooled head bikes. But I decided to go with bugs worked out twin cam, then early m8

Right, we all know that low mileage is bad on a used vehicle...

I have no idea what this means.

OP:
Don`t be nervous about buying a 2016, nothing to be concerned about, just put gas into it and ride.

Fatboy Sound
Great sound. I’ve owned two Evo’s and two M8’s but no Twin Cams. Yet.

Is that engine stock? Or cammed. Thanks.

It is stock, the HO version of the 103 had a stock cam upgrade
The earlier verision of the 103 was a little more tame.
Mine is right from the factory, no mods

Right??
Then he even re-posts the same nonsensical gibberish with instructions for you to follow while deciphering.

OP, I would not worry about that engine one single bit. Sounds like a great low mileage score.
