Well, how about that. Took out those shiny billet rocker bases and put in a set of crappy looking HD OEM rockers and voila, sounds a whole lot better. Put a set of rockouts in just for the F of it. Took them apart, cleaned, loaded up with assembly lube and bolted them back together. The front set the exhaust side was a little loose, .019 endplay (I could get a .020 in with a shove) so I think I’m hearing that, but that’s ok. This was an experiment. I’ll pick up a complete new set next week. But for me, pretty damn good. Could I possibly be done???

Feuling race limited travel, set to one flat over their recommendation of .065, so prob .071 out of .110.

I’m probably going to pick up a new set for the front. The rears were .13 at the worst. The front was .019/.020

But I’m so relieved….

THANKS for all your help gentlemen

Just so you know I've set those limited travel fuelings lifters to .083" without any issue at all So if you want to send them a little deeper you can.. on a 32 TPI pushrod You can go 16 flats no problem.. Keep in mind that these fuelings limited travel lifters are going to be a little noisier than others that I have used that have a full .200" travel..

You JUST told me to leave it alone! Now you want me to add more preload? You guys love F’ing with me!

I was thinking about picking up a set of SE tapered pushrods when I put the new rockers in the front. They look like a nicely designed set. The FuelMoto ones are getting a little beaten up from the repeated adjustment. Maybe when I do that.

what will the additional preload buy me?

Well it looks like your vid is not after a 20 mile ride in 90+ temps.. It does sound better but my stuff is quiet with the oil temps are under 160F.

I've not used the vulcan billet but do like the SE forged..

Yeah but this was loud before, even when cold…

So it failed my criteria.. Got a caliper? If you could, measure rocker shaft hole to rocker shaft hole on the ones you removed.. Also measure from the hole to the bottom surface..
