Also this rocker looks like the rocker that was running against that valve..

The end is smudged..

It looks like a rocker / valve tip alignment issue..

Looks like the rocker is only catching the end of the valve and it ain't flat..

Here is another view.




Oily metal makes strange reflections. They are flat, believe me.

I pulled the front rockers off and was happy (sort of?) to see no damage to the rocker arms or valve stems. The assembly was smooth, with fluid movement and not a hint of movement laterally. Maybe you have already noticed, but there are clear signs of this push rod rubbing against something, most likely the tube.
