Those can be a major PITA; that one looks like it has been pushed in a bit by the IPB race walking in. In that situation, I have used a small flat blade srew driver with the tip bent up just a bit to dig in behind the seal and try to pull it out. You will have to fabricate the tool, maybe trial and error until you get one that works. Patience is key, once you see it move even just a bit, you know it can be worked out. Someone may have a better way but that is how I have pulled that seal several times.

The race was in the proper position altought it came off quite easy... It does look like it is installed a bit to deep ...How it got that way who knows. I tried to get behind it using a tool and method described by youtuber Brad the wizard ...but because its to far back it will not work ... it is basically like your bent screw driver method.. I am going to start bending screw drivers tonight

Yeah. You need a propane torch. Heat the end until it's red then with a small 8-12 oz hammer gently tap the end of the screw driver over. when it looks good stop and let it air cool. Grind to shape. Polish the back side so it don't scratch the mainshaft. Since yours is in a ways, may do a 45 degree bend and pull out the steel part of seal in 2 locations. then bend the hook all the way to 90 and slid in the notch rotate a use a small plastic hammer to tap on the grips gripping the shaft.

I've used the screw method with great success. Take two self tapping sheetmetal screws ,they need to be a half inch or 3/8" is better. Then screw them right into the face of the seal 180 degrees apart. Then use two pairs of vice grips and grab the heads of the screws. Start wiggling them back and forth and that'll break the hold the seal has...now you just wggle it right on out....once you have it on the run you can use one of those screwdrivers you ruined to expedite the process.

Thanks for the direction ... I made a couple of pullers and they do grip but I cannot get the seal to budge. Looks like I am mangling it a bit I am about to pull the transmission apart ...
