I would go with cycle electric. I doubt they removed the primary to do 95". I would think they just rotated tire in 5th. I suspect it was just time and wear

Ya you should probably removed tensioner. But I have left it in when doing 5 speeds, just loosening, not that it wasn't in back of mind.

I have had two plugs leak. I tried silicone. I found just brake clean it, or let it weep until I had apart for other reasons. A bike this age, replacing stator was good idea, plus I would do volt reg when apart.

When installing new stators, I have had good luck cleaning the hole through the case and the seal plug with electrical contact cleaner, let dry, then spray the seal plug with rubbing alcohol. It makes it slippery. While still wet, pull the plug through and let dry. No silicone
Agree with Max about the tensioner. Also, why did he put 2 quarts of fluid in. Seems alot.

Just to be clear I was not following how the guy in video installed stator.. I was more concerned with placement of the parts on compensating side.. my manual had a different configuration than the one I Uninstalled ..This video showed the same compensating sprocket installation as mine..putting me at ease..

No problem. Was just making a comment about my experiences installing stators. Glad everything's working out
