How to Change a Harley Davidson Dyna Stator - YouTube
Well, this video makes me think I'm not nuts. I guess might not need spacers. That being said I cannot get the Heavy-duty Rotor

In my case, the crank spacer had a sharp lip on one side.. It cut into the rotor enough to cause a stress point. The motor had a few builds, last being a 116 with 11.3 to 1 cr for about 30000 miles (55000 total). It cracked at the stress riser.
I went with a new stock rotor but added a washer to the back side to distribute the load along the flat of the rotor. The picture shows, the other end of the spacer which has a sharp corner also..

Back to the thread. What is changed to use a thicker alternator thru the spline area by first poster.
My 04
Spline gone and face wear allowed sprockets to go so far over chain nipped sprocket causing a tic tic tic. This was after two attempts by a Harley dealer to fix it.
No space sits on top of the compensator cup.
One long seal spacer that can be flipped 180 for the new seal area with a new seal.
Measuring to make sure bolt nut goes up far enough
Set up for 04 TC. Behind one is alternator rotor sitting on long space that runs in sleeve
Variable spacers for 1 before standard matching established by Harley. Not sure when they did this. In my 04 Service Manual
Making sure sprockets are in alignment off finished face of inner cover.
Does anyone see a problem with this picture from an 01 setup for a FXDX? Is that spacer in the right place?

Found oil in connector .. Looks like it may have wicked up inside wire to make sure I cover both my bases. Applied The Right stuff then shrink wrapped all possible weak points. Also did the o ring trick will apply the right stuff just before installation.
Cleaned everything with break cleaner including mounting hole even heated it up to get as much oil out of the Aluminum.

Thanks Jackie and Max.
With your help the job seemed easier than I thought. While I hit a few bumps in the road you guys got me throughit., I am glad the oil leak bothered me enough to address it. There was more going on than I originally anticipated. I am waiting for a tension pad (it was pretty worn) to button it up.
