twin cam bearing puller/installer tool rental
I'm planning on adding cams here very soon, therefore the inner cam bearings will get replaced, while I will buy the tool if necessary, I'd rather not as it will likely only get used once. Does anyone have the tool that they would rent me? I'd pay the full price up front, we can agree on a rental fee, once I return it, just refund me the difference....

thanks, but the cheap ones scare me, there are lots of cheap ones on amazon, but the reviews are awful on most. maybe I'll just bite the bullet and buy the one from Fuel Moto and sell it after using it

I have the Fuel Moto tool and am willing to ship it. No rental fee full price BS, just send it back when your finished and cover the ride. I do live across the country, so shipping may take a few extra days. Given your history on HDForums, I'm not worried about being ripped off.
PM me if this helps you out.

I went ahead and bought one, my nephew, who also owns a twin cam is talking about doing cams now, so I will need my own at least twice. Thanks guys, and specifically @Longobard

I'd like to offer a little tidbit of advice that I ran into when I used mine for the first time.
The instructions said to "tap it through the bearing". Because the fingers were opened too much, they would not go through the bearing with a gentle tap. At this point, had I hit the tool hard enough to drive it through the bearing, I might have driven the bearing farther into the case pushing it against the crankshaft, and that could have been a real mess. When I recognized the problem, I squeezed the fingers together in my vice until I could easily insert the tool all the way through the bearing. Then I screwed the spreader in, tightened it, and proceeded to pull the bearings out.
Yours may be completely fine as delivered but mine wasn't and what I had to do was nowhere in the instructions.
Just trying to help, gb
