Default Is it Absolutely necessary to run Synthetic..

As it says.. Is it absolutely necessary to run Synthetic oil in my 103 Twin Can.. Or, can I use Valvoline VR1 high zinc Dino Racing oil?
the motor has a slight build.. Specs in the SIG..

I have been told run whatever you want, but don’t switch back and forth. You will probably get a lot of different opinions on this.

Do you know who makes Harley oil? Sunoco. Any good quality syn oil will work likes of amsoil, mobil and so on. Much better for the engine.

I would not run non-synthetic in an air cooled motorcycle except in an emergency. The primary benefit of synthetic oil is maintaining viscosity over a wider range of temperatures. If there's an application where there is maximum benefit for the properties synthetic provides, this is it.

Why would you want to change to pure dino oil?
