It's just too loud
I know, I know, "If it's too loud, yer too old! HAW HAW!"
But seriously, folks, the mufflers on my ride are just too loud. One longtime riding buddy told me he now prefers riding ahead of me, because. Finally, after this season has mostly ended here, I want to trade 'em out. The ones on there now are as far as I can tell (any help here?) factory. I had them off last winter and didn't see any aftermarket evidence.
I like the sound/tone just fine, but I've had enough after about an hour and a half. My ears ring anyway due to my tinnitus, but when I stop riding for the day, sometimes the thunder is crazy. I've tried 2 hats and a windshield, I always wear earplugs, and it's still too much.
I'm looking for a set that mimics the stock look and takes it down a whole bunch of dBs. Any suggestions?

Maybe someone drilled out baffles or modified. Cause I doubt stock are that loud.
Hard this time of year, but listening to bikes helps. Or see if you can find some cheap used one, read reviews and take a chance.
Mechanic recommended I use anti seize. Hopefully makes it better taking off next time.

OK, photos of the system as it stands, and a shot up the pipe. When I had the pipes off while replacing the cam chain tensioners, I did notice a lot of info stamped into them on the interior (away from the street), and looking upstream, saw that it was straight through with some sort of baffling. I should have written it all down and taken pix. It'll be coming into the cellar for it's winter nap soon, so I'll pop one of them off and find out.
Thanks for your patience.

Some one has probably drilled it.
There is a two baffle pipes that are caped. One in that let's exhaust thru hundreds of small holes into outer big section and then thru the other holes into and out the hole you look in.
With the crossover, each muffler shares both cylinders. So they help empty cylinder.
If someone left some rim in there, you can bolt a sandwich plate in there with long extension and sockets
It a good system . I got a brand new take off for about $40. Off the last year 96 night train Bolts right on.
Looked a lot better the the original stock on my bike. It had a set of Pythons on it. Total garbage.
