IMO the Se-585 cam is fine for a midrange cam. Open up the head pipe like others mentioned, I've never experimented with the power limit through a cat, but I'd guess it's north of where you are now. From here, I suggest getting the heads ported if you're looking for more

A CR575 and free flowing head pipe w muffler tunable disks would show power everywhere, maintaining noise control.

For guys out there like this who want roll on power but like stock style motors, like Arseman said, can’t have it all. Duhhh lol

I like the CR cams; running the CR595 in my latest 98" build; 115/115. However, regardless of cam and exhaust, crusing at 70mph in sixth gear and rolling on throttle to overtake is a mistake; drop a gear and wind her up and get around whatever is in front.JMHO.

A basically free and reversible mod: next time you need a rear tire use a cobra chrome 180/60R-16. It’s a little shorter and does the same thing as dropping a tooth on the trans pulley. Not a huge difference but it’s an improvement. You’ll need to use the PV to adjust the speedo a little. It’s a radial and you’ll notice a better ride quality. If you’re street tuning this yourself it’s not comparable to a professional tune by a talented tuning technician. Which can be a challenge because just having a dyno doesn’t mean they’re any good at tuning.

Appreciate everyone's input! Anyone aware of a good tuner in the Grand Junction (western Colorado) area?

Get rid of the cats. Tuning with cats installed is a cluster. The cats already get hot as fu#k with a stock tune. Adding more fuel with a tune and you are going to have problems.

Maybe see if your tune needs to be adjusted in the higher RPMs. You may be running out of fuel or timing up high. Just a thought. With stock heads you aren't going to gain much with the larger TB and injectors.

I would say they could. The CVO 110 heads flow about 275 cfm @28 stock.. They are not the same heads as a 103.

That's pretty good for stock heads. I know Don likes to work with them but I didn't know they flowed that well stock.
