They are Chain drive 37's. I did add rocker rockers last year which made a huge improvement which is partially why I'm at ends with this rattle. Went from sewing machine smooth to sounding like a bag of bolts are in the crank. Warmed up or cold it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Turbacide, I heard the noise you're referring to. I have the exact same damn issue amd it's driving me crazy!! It's got substantially worse in the past couple months. Here's my setup whoch is simmilar to yours:

S&S 106" kit
ideS&S 585 cams (chain)
darkhorse compensator
Professionally tuned on dyno
oh yea, also have rockerlockers installed.
Same sounds emitted only on acceleration at about 3000 rpm. I'm fixing to tear apart my motor again.
Checked the pistons, they're clean, no Nick's from valve Contact (thank God). Its not from the primary.
I had a higher pitched rattle in my '14 that was driving me nuts from 2000 to about 3500 RPMS. I had a rocker cover leak and installed Rockout sleeves while I was in there doing the gaskets - Presto - noise gone. I can't believe that tiny amount of rocker shaft slap on the bolts was making that much racket.
