Default 2000 twin88b cam sensor questions

Idk if this is the best place for this question but here goes. I have a 2000 softail standard. Oem calls for cam sensor and a crank sensor. Guy I bought some parts off of has a 2001 standard and says his doesn’t have cam sensor. Quick Harley search in OE parts says this is true. BUT the 2000 standard and the 2001 standard both have the same part number for the icm. Does this mean I don’t NEED the backordered who knows when it’s available cam sensor? Here’s picture of my icm part number.

The 1999 Twin Cam uses a Cam Sensor, VOES and an ignition module. 2000+ use a Cam Position Sensor, MAP Sensor (fancy VOES) and an ignition module. Just take off the "points cover" on the camshaft cover. You can see there is no Cam Sensor on a 2000. You give no indication why you think you need a Cam Sensor. Go AFTERMARKET for ignition stuff.

from all the info I’ve looked at including Harley OE parts on their website 99-2000 has cam sensor.

Don't know. Maybe someone else does.. If you go the HD parts site, they list the 33568-00C as the current replacement part for the 2000 softail.. I'm sure the 00C won''t need the cam sensor and am pretty sure about the -00 needing the sensor. A or B may or maynot. Ask the guy what the number is on the ICM.. If it's an A or B it might be OK.

IMO, You'd be better off going aftermarket and get a daytona twin tech especially if you plan on upgrading the motor. It won't need a cam sensor.
