I dont think so. But I am no expert, my first HD was an 01 road glide I bought used with 60K and it ran fin till I wrecked it being stupid. And if you do have problems you can always do a carb conversion

I would pass. Why buy a bike with known EFI issues knowing parts and competent tuners are hard to find and a carb conversion may be in the future. A proper carb conversion will cost about $700-$800 so better to pay a bit more for the later EFI model IMHO; the Delphi EFI is so much better.

One of my bikes (sold last year) was a 2002 FLHT bought as a project bike. Over the first couple of years, cosmetic changes, Twist Gear tranny mod, suspension upgrades, and built all bore 107" motor (110HP/124TQ) and I often wish I had kept it. I had three bikes at the time; didn't really want to sell so my ask was a stretch but a club rider showed up ond day, had the cash, rode the bike and the deal was done. If I was buying an early model, it woud be 2002; IMHO, the best year for an early model. Look for one with 25K-30K miles; might take a while but worth it.

OK, I hope it is carbed and not the MM EFI. There are a couple of forum members that own '01 models that would probably warn you, as I have, about the MM EFI. One of them has converted to carb when the EFI started acting up. My last word on your choice and I hope it works out for you.

I have an 01 Road King with 70k on it MM FI ( bought it new ) I have had zero problem with the FI system. Just finished 98 motor had it tuned with Techno Research tuner. The bike runs well. I will admit it is the unicorn of the bunch but wouldn’t trade it for anything. The police bike your looking at came with the 95 motor ( definitely nicer than the 88) if you like the way it runs that’s all that matters. I have been around fuel injection for 40 years, aside from the PCM there all basically similar as far as sensors and functionality. The Delphi with o2 definitely mixes better but I doubt you will feel the difference. My 98ci did 100 hp 110 torque gets low 40s mpg. I also have am 09 Road Glide 113ci with a Thundermax (wide band 02 sensors) gets about 40 mpg flat. They both run well.
p.s. the road glide has left me on the side of the road with no throttle response twice over the years 100k on that bike the Road King has never failed
good luck

thanks for the reply, how can you verify whether that bike is a 95" ? I have read (cant find now) that there were only cosmetic and charging differences in the twin cam police bikes versus civilian models. Is it reflected in the VIN? Or buildsheet? thanks for any clarification,

thnx
