Heads are 84cc. As stated by another person, I think I just need to run it first. I know everything is installed properly. I just thought I could check the CCP before starting just to see how much it dropped between cams. I'm gonna fire it up next weekend when I get home. Thanks.

RS cams are a bit lackluster to begin with and could use all the compression they can take. A friend is contemplating getting rid of these very same same cams in a bike he bought with them, Zippers kit I believe, so yeah I've seen them first hand and told him the same thing. They'd be fine with a bit more compression than the typical 185 most seem to think is a good target compression. I wouldn't run them at less than 200.

So is going from a 48 to a RS527 going to drop the CCP below 200 for the OP?

BTW, I would have left the 48 in.. You just got to dial back the timing a little..

The RS527 is nothing more than a W5 with 1 degree more LSA and a little more advance.

Punching in all your numbers, I got you at 10.05 with a ccp of 201.76 psi.. What elevation you at? Cause that could make a difference in decreasing it . Going to the 527 cam will only drop your CCP 6 psi.. I agree with Max.. Stick with the 48's and get it tuned properly..

At 700 ft above sea level it is going to knock down your CCP a few pounds put you down around 198. There's no reason why you can't find a competent tuner to properly tune your bike with that Cam and that compression, unless you have a problem with your ignition system...

If the engine hasn't been started yet, the lifters aren't pumped up, which will effectively reduce duration and change the intake valve closing point. I'd suspect that is why you are seeing a higher ccp reading.

Update to my CCP.

So I ended up going with Woods W7's. After about 100 miles of a test ride and a few timing adjustments. She runs like a raped ape. The CCP is 210 front and rear after a cool down.

Thanks for all the input.
