Default Hillside/Darkhorse 107 build

Got my old SE Preformance heads and jugs boxed an headed to UPS for Scott to do a stage 2 and bore to 107. Cases are stripped and ready for John and the crew to put in one of their Man O War 4.375 cranks, Timkin, and made new. With 125k on the clock it was time to go into the bottom. Balance chain guide were 3/4 gone. Unfortunately my .570 is shot. One of the lobes is pitted pretty bad. Been a long time since I ordered big dollars of parts and the old ones like Zanetti are gone. Surdike and Chicago don't do aftermarket. Any one know who will sell HD pluse aftermarket like S&S, Mikuni, ect on the cheap. I know big items are cams, carb, lifters, manafold, oil cooler and probably starter as well as seals and other odds and ends. Thanks for any suggestions.

Get HD parts from an online disount dealer; Zanottis is gone but taken over by Newcastle. Aftermarket parts from the aftermarket; cams from the source, i.e., S&S, Woods, Andrews, Cyclerama, etc. JP Cycles offers a variety of aftermarket parts and "odds and ends". You just have to roll up your sleeves and start scouring the net; nothing will be "on the cheap" and with the supply chain in disarray, some parts may have longer lead times or just unavailable.

Yea Surdike has good prices on HD but want do after market. So far only a couple supply chain/back order but have the biggest expense of parts to order. Sure miss Zanetti. Was so easy to get anything and Chrome cash. Just got back from UPS. Not as bad as I thought. Cases, heads, cylinders and counter balance assembly...basically the motor minus Crank in four boxes for $165 from South Arkansas to way up Yankee land!😉 Next up to change out a trio of 5th gear seals. My old race walked about 10 years ago and went back with the S&S. Needless to say it's still there but something is giving it up. Nasty oil/dirt behind sprocket so good time to fix while waiting.

I don't know any HD dealer that sells aftermarket parts; why would they. Check out Newcastle; you will recognize the website as it is Zanottis; but I don't think Newcastle does Chrome Cash. If they don't have the part, it usually takes a week or so to get it. They will send everything except the BO parts or hold the order until they have everything; customer's choice. I used to buy a lot from Zanottis and the transition from Zanottis to Newcastle was seamless. IIRC, I dealt with some of the same people.

Your previous buld looks a lot like the old "Hippo" build from back in the day.

It is. I actually talked to the man himself back in the day before I did it. Was a great combo. Off the shelf parts, minimal clearance issues and 90 to 100 torque and HP every time. Mine did 94 and 96. Put about 90k on that build and with my little stripped down no windshield FXST pluse my 150 lb was the fastest thing in town. Then came the Milwaukee 8s🥴! Not much more to go from 95 to 107 since going into the bottom with those miles anyway.

Yeah; Hippo was a "cool dude" and is missed by many. I also spoke with him several times and was always amused by his posts on HTT. RIP Hippo.

I had Scott do my heads and cylinders for my 107 build a couple of months ago. I purchased my Woods cams, S&S pushrods and some other items from him also. I found him to be quite reasonable on his prices.
