Oh yea definitely put on the manifold. Probably wait on the carb. Not to much to that. It took 3 people to get it out and it is a heavy SOB! I have the frame up on a motorcycle lift and a jack set up under the block to hold the weight while they balanced it and I pulled the bolts. B motor is ridgid mount. Jugs have to be tilted slightly out the right side of frame and then once they clear the top brace I let the case swing out. It's all on the youth at that point!🤣 Going back just reversed. Getting the weight on the jack is the trick so they are not stuck holding dead weight while I fish the mount bolts threw.

Yeah, I figured the A motor weighs about 180+, so a B motor probably around 190.
I didn't use a lift. For me, the hardest part was getting the motor down from my work bench down to the floor Three different steps for that
Good luck!

With the rocker covers on, IMO, when you install the intake manifold don't make that much difference. With the top covers off, you can get to the upper right side screws with a hex ball screwdriver..

The bottom end of a B motor is just under 90lbs by itself.
Easier to install it first then put the top end on imo
Half hour it was in and bolted up.
Trying to install the whole motor alone would've sucked.

"Trying to install the whole motor alone would've sucked." Well that's what I'm going to do hence large muscle work for beer youngsters! As soon as I get a day off. Been working 12 hrs days or nights with 24 hour turnaround since Spring basically. Gotta get this thing back on the road somehow this month as going into a shutdown the whole month of October straights.😵 Been scattered since back first part of April if I remember. Going to forget how it all came apart.

I did installs with bike on the floor on jiffy stand. Floor jack under the frame. Lift motor over right side frame and onto floor jack. Lean motor over a little ( this is where an extra hand comes in handy). Raise motor into position, may have to raise tyranny a bit. Bolt motor and trans together. Take a couple advils

Yep that's how it came out and plan to go in. Only difference is the frame is on a Craftsmanship motorcycle lift so the frame is level. Floor jack centered under motor area. I'll install the 2 forwarded long bolts and the brace off the top frame leaving weight in the jack. Have a couple beers with the boys then install the tranny and swing arm shaft b4 jack bleeds down over night. Lot of weight on those front long bolts and top brace only.
