Throw me a little for shipping and handling and they're yours.
If you look at that FM cam shootout, most all are going to be within a pony or 3 in a stock 103. The 570s being one of the better ones. And you can't beat the price. Nice quiet cam too.
I'd take the w777 any day over the 570s, even the W5 in a trike. The big issue is compression and exhaust choice on the 570s. They can really fall off down low.

"Can" being the operative word here. Not saying you're necessatily wrong. And they've got a real strong midrange. They seem to be the cam of choice for trikes around here is all I'm saying. None of these cams mentioned are going to be stump pullers. If you look at that cam shootout the 777s take a pretty good dip in torque around 2500rpm too.Throw a $20 set of TTIs in...Hell, for the $400 he's saving on the cams he could bump compression by throwing .030 head gaskets in too and still be ahead.

The thing is that the dyno sheet only shows WOT. The fall off is not at WOT but partial.. You can call it a bog..

I take it you didn't read the thread in it's entirety?

Not many people other than yourself would recommend those cams even for a factory trike.

That's why the S&S 583's appeal to me. Over 100lbs/tq at 2K rpm all the way to almost 5K rpm and around 90+hp peak, sounds like a great trike cam.

My next question is about spending the funds for an aftermarket cam plate, like an S&S or Fueling. My 2011 has only 10k miles on it.

I really want to leave the top end and displacement alone, for now.

Unless there's an issue once you crack it open, don't bother spending the money for a plate/pump

Thanks, that's pretty much what my indy shop told me, too.

222 would be a great cam for a trike in my opinion. I ran them in a Ultra Limited and really like how they pulled right off idle. They replaced a set of S&S 583’s that just weren’t to my liking. Had to ride more aggressive than I liked for them to come on.

The problem with the 583 is that they have 262 degrees of exhaust duration. They cause what I call "over exhausting". It's not reversion but the fact that at lower throttle settings and lower RPMs, the exhaust flow is stow to almost nothing at TDC on the overlap. This leaves burnt charge in the combustion chamber and no velocity in the exhaust port to pull it out. The motor feels lethargic down low. It makes the let end performance really dependent on exhaust flow to work.. While I haven't ever used 583s , SnS 570s do the same thing.

BTW,
Looking at FMs dyno run you don't see the issue. Part of this is due to the fact that the throttle was held wide open. Partial throttle is where you feel the flatness. Second, Jamey like used a tunable exhaust. IIRC he used the old white brothers exhaust that tunes like a supertrap.
