Woods 777 cams in 103"

The 222's are what I wanted, to start with, but my builder was pushing the 777's. Since they have built a ton of fast Harleys, it was something to consider. However, my trike has pretty tall gearing and is obviously no lightweight, I still believe either the 222's or maybe even 555's would be a better idea. Thanks for the input, guys. I appreciate it.
Tyler, I live in Central Texas, about 35 miles north of Austin. My engine builder is Big Dave @ Triple Nickel Cycles, in Liberty Hill. Jamie @ FuelMoto knows him, well.

Just decide where you want the most pull to be felt and pick that cam. No doubt this cam is going to pull strong off the line and if you don't rev it out past 4500 rpm it should be nice upgrade.

W777 works real well with the right exhaust.. The VnH and big mufflers maybe too much. I've had very good results with the W777 and a DnD Fatcat with quiet baffle even running a CR of 9.9 to 1 on a 07 FLHTC. Put somewhere around 40000 miles on it. Still have the bike and another 26000 as a 107 @10.4 to 1 still with the W777.

The reason I've been considering a Stage II set-up on our trike is that its gearing is pretty tall, compared to a Tri Glide or Freewheeler. They are geared 30/70 while mine has a 32/68 combo. I bought a new 30T front pulley but my indy shop thinks I'll also need a new, shorter belt. Big job, with lots of labor. Trikes are obviously heavier than a Street Glide, wife rides with me about 75% of the time(she weighs about 140lbs), and the taller gearing is not as useful, here in the TX Hill Country. My thinking is that longer duration cams will just make the bottom end feel even weaker. Both the S&S 583's and TW-222's will pull hard all the way past 5000rpm, with more bottom end and midrange power, as well. The stock cams feel pretty flat, above 4,000rpm.
Am I on the right track or should I spend the money instead, on the gearing? The last thing I need is a trike with a light switch powerband. lol

I assumed that you had trike gearing. You are more correct to go with a lower end cam if you plan on keeping the stock bagger gearing..
You can typically go to 30/70 and use the same belt as a 32 / 68 but removing 2 teeth only on the front will move the axle back about 14mm. With your trike, I don't know if you have that much adjustment.

I have to admit, the more I read up on Fuel Motos cam info, I'm not yet convinced the 777's are a bad choice.
