Will 103 cyclinders off a street bob fit my softail engine , want to upgrade from my 96ci fxst
have cylinders pistons heads and 255 cams from a street bob 103

 

I think it's the same motor. Just with a bigger bore & compression releases.

 

Might want to consider getting some compression releases machined in. The 255s do generate some cranking pressure...you may not need them all the time but on hot re -starts your starter and battery will thank you.

 

If you stick with the OEM thickness head gasket and keep your compression at 9.6:1 your CCP will be right around 192 psi... You should be all right...

 

The 103 heads have compression releases built in. HD sells compression releases and a conversion kit for the 96. It has to be tuned for it. PV can do it. Or HD can do it with Digital Technician. I have it wired up on my 09 Softail.
