Performance Upgrades - Cam & Compression?
#11
Just because he wants to smoke anyone dumb enough to pull along side him at a light is no reason to buy jap junk.
Well first off, he needs to get the SE crap out of his head if he's on a budget. There's better out there for less. A good, strong motor is needed but the gearing change is a necessity and by far the cheapest way to smoke a whole lotta bigger engines he can't afford to build.
Well the guy listed at the top that he was going to use:
As far as running the bike hard, go for it.
IMO I'd do a 107 with the 777, get the heads ported, and add a throttle body. In doing so you'll have to upgrade the clutch to SE spring and new frictions. Besides the 2 mentioned @wfolarry does good headwork. Intakes will flow close to 300cfm at 28.
With that build I'd bet you drag race it less, because you'll either get tickets or die.

if your looking for good power, heads are the #1 way to do it.a good build would be 1.9/1.630 headwork (something flowing in the 265+ area),777 cams if you like woods cams,107" big bore kit, good 2-1 pipe & a 58mm HPI t body (my choice would be S&S 585 cams, which we hit 120+ out of our 107" kits on a regular basis)

Power to the rear wheel is power to the rear wheel. Takes advantage of he power he already has. The 103 is no slouch when cammed and geared properly.

Cams
Go to Fuel Moto website. They have a lot of cam choices and dyno runs posted for several models from stock to 110's. Their help and parts selection is awesome! They carry most major after market brands. Fast shipping, reasonable prices. I purchased from Fuel Moto, Wood 222 Cams, Wood Alpha Directional Lifters, Fuel Moto EZ Install Push Rods, Feuling OE+ 8033 Cam Plate, Feuling 7030 Oil Pump, DynoJet Power Vision, all related gaskets, bearings and special tools. Ordering AIM / Fuel Moto VP Clutch. One stop shop for sure!!!
On your cam selection, the Wood 555 was my second choice only because of my riding style. The 777 is an awesome cam as well especially if you want to build on your 103.

Hi everyone!
I have a 103 Low Rider and I'm going for 1 of 2 options and could use some advice. Almost forgot to say I redline and drag race almost every chance I get. With both options, I have decided to go with the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe, SE Intake, Power Vision Tuner, and SE Adjustable Pushrods.
Option 1 - wood 555 cams
Option 2 - wood 777 cams & SE 10.5:1 compression pistons (cams may also come in handy if I ever decide to go to a 110).
What do you think? Any suggestions? Dyno sheets? Similar setups.
Thank you
