Default Choosing a builder for a TC 124

Finally looking to build a TC 124, most likely using my current 103 as the base. Looking for close to the 150 mark on torque.

Not sure how I go about choosing a skilled, reputable builder. I note many references to builders on this site and others. A handful that seem to get nothing but perfect rave reviews, and others that might be a little hit/miss.

If I might ask for some recommendations. I'm in Southeast Georgia, and the closer the better - but I will drive wherever to ensure I get an excellent build. I just don't have a handle on who might be good these days.

Some of the named builders I am aware/have read about:

Fuel Moto (not building from 103s, only their Outlaw motor offered in 124)
Sheffer Performance (Indiana)
GMR (Dallas/Ft Worth)
Dragos (Illinois)
Star Racing (Georgia)
JB Performance (Tennessee)
Cycle Rama (Florida)
T-Man (North Carolina)
Hillside (NY)
VeeTwin (FL)
Zippers (Maryland)

Since you want close, I'll second the vote for Kevin Baxter at pro-twin. My unquestionable go-to is Scott at hillside. You'll be in great hands with Kevin

After going through everything with building a 124, I would recommend that you just go with an S&S 143 and be done with it. You’ll make your 150 lbs. of torque with a mild tune on a hot humid day in Georgia. You are only talking about the additional cost of cases, and if that is out of budget, then you shouldn’t be asking for a 150 tq. 124”.

Literally everyone listed will build you an amazing setup. Give them a call and talk to them and see who feels right.
