Default stock grind conversion cams

Hello All, I am back for some expertise. 2003 RK, Does anyone know if a stock grind conversion cams exist to use with a SE cam plate (or other), that can use a roller chain for the inner cams? SE's cam plate conversion allows the use of a roller chain for the outer sprockets for 2003, but looks to use the silent chain for the inner cam sprockets. My understanding is the silent chain may cause more wear on pads even with the hydraulic set-up.

I'm sure someone will chime in with additional info, but the reason for the SE cam plate was so you could use your stock-style cams. IF you went with an '07 or up cam plate and oil pump, then you could use "conversion" cams.

Plus, if you're going in there, I'd SERIOUSLY consider upgrading the cam, even if it's to the "weenie" Andrews 21 or 26. There's a LOT of reading on the subject and I could expound upon my path through the cam adjuster saga on my 2006 RKC. But I'll spare you the gory details, but post a link to a thread I did on the subject when I was wading through the cam-infested waters.

Good luck! And there's a lot of great info on this site about the oft-dreaded cam adjusters in TC88s.

No OEM "conversion" cams. IIRC, Andrews does offer a stock conversion cam but if changing cams, TCrafty's suggestion of the Andrews 21 is a good idea. If planning to use the SE camplate/pump (PN 25282-11) you will also need all the associated parts, i.e., chains, tensioners, sprockets, etc. Or you can use PN 25284-11 but will be stuck with the Morse link "silent" chain and stock cams.

Not a big fan of SE anything. I've done a couple conversion cam upgrades. I got low mile parts off ebay. Usually you can get a complete plate, gears, and chains ect for around a 150 bucks. The Andrews 26 is a good cam in a 95" motor.
