You're trying to wring out a dry mop. Stage one has ran out of steam even before the 5k redline. You're probably going past peak h.p. at 5k and torque is probably around 3k to 4k at its peak. Learn to shift keeping the motor in its power band and you'll be doing better than a guy running it up to 6k. Race two equal bikes and have one guy bang off the Rev limiter before shifting and the other shifts at a point that keeps the motor in the peak power zone and guess who's gonna win?

My 07 WAS a 96". Now it's a 105" forged 10'5:1 pistons with a solid motor sprocket instead of the compensator. Converted EFI to Mikuni HSR 42 with a 6000 rev limiter. Do I actually hit the rev limit? HELL NO! Thing is I have a cushion to shift before it hits the limiter. Besides, the TC will spin at 6000 rpm. Just depends on what ya did inside the engine.
