I have heard that they first generation of EFI had some glitches, the Delphi EFI is a lot more reliable etc. The Delphi is still used today as far as I know?
Today is the day! I’ll be meeting the seller at the Indy shop, and barring any crazy developments, I’ll pull the trigger and get it today. I’ll keep you guys posted! I want to thank all of you guys for the information and opinions! I love this Forum!

Just wanted to let everyone know I pulled the trigger on the Road King! The Indy shop said the bike was “obviously garage kept, spotless, and ran strong” The only things were the tires that looked great but date code from 2013 (I knew that going in),drive belt was a little too snug, grips were a little worn etc. But they said no leaks and the bike looked and ran great. I’ll be putting on a set of Michelin Commander 3’s, and do a three hole fluid change etc.
Just got back from the DMV with my temp tag and title ordered, and put full insurance on her!
Thanks everyone for all the replies!

I just sold my '03 FLHTCUI100. I bought a 2012 FLHTK. I hardly notice any difference in handling between the two. If anything, I felt like my '03 was more planted.
There is a thread about how I got screwed by not test riding it, but that's a long story. In the end I am happy with my bike. The main difference is it is quieter, and better for interstate travel thanks to the 6 speed. It has much brighter lights, nice if you ride at night a lot. If you want a bike for cruising around town, or riding under 70 on 2 lanes buy this bike. if you like it, don't quibble over $500-1,000. If you plan to take long trips going 75-85 you might want to save up for an '09 or newer. But if I was you I'd buy that bike, maintain it and you will be able to resell it without much of a loss if upgrading.
